Sited atop a mesa with sweeping views of the Boulder Valley and the Flatirons to the west, the Halseth Residence was designed to make the most of its exceptional setting. At nearly 7,000 square feet, the home is oriented to capture those views from the primary living spaces, grounding the design in the landscape from the first sketch.

The architecture draws a deliberate connection between inside and out through the integration of stone, carried from the exterior into the interior in a way that makes the material feel continuous rather than decorative. The result is a home that feels rooted in its site rather than placed on it.

A curved porch roof softens the entry sequence and adds a gesture of warmth to what might otherwise read as a purely contemporary form. Designed for a growing family, the home balances generous shared spaces with room to spread out — nearly 7,000 square feet organized around the views, the stone, and the land it sits on.
