On The Boards | Lafayette Remodel

We’re excited to share a look at this Lafayette remodel moving from on the boards to foundation pouring! Located east end of downtown Lafayette, Colorado, this remodel and addition is all about building on what’s already there while creating something entirely new.

The original home was built in the early 1900s. It’s a home that had good presence and charm, but ready for an update to meet today’s needs. Our design keeps the familiar presence along the streetfront, preserving the massing of the original home and reusing some of the original walls, toe be placed on a new foundation. The goal is to make sure this home not only lasts, but really works for the people who live in it.

The addition will open things up. A new kitchen, dining area, and great room stretch to the north to bring in the eastern morning light. To the west, a quiet primary suite that gives the homeowners some separation and privacy. A new detached garage with an ADU above, offering space for guests, work, or long-term flexibility.

As a Colorado architect focused on custom home design and thoughtful remodels, we love projects like this. It’s a chance to blend old and new, preserve a bit of local history, and give it new life for the next chapter.
